Priesthood Goals

As disciples of Jesus Christ and honorable holders of the Holy Priesthood, we will:

• Lead our families and our community to receive salvation and exaltation through Jesus Christ;

• Love, share and invite all to receive the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ;

• Seek out and care for those in temporal and spiritual need;

• Support the work of uniting families for eternity by making covenants with God and doing temple and family history work for our kindred dead.  (HB, 8.2, Participating in the Work of Salvation and Exaltation)

Keokuk Branch Elders Quorum Principles of Action

(General Handbook: Serving in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Section 8 – Elders Quorum)

1.  Living the Gospel of Jesus Christ:  Elders Quorum priesthood holders will lead our families and our community to receive Jesus Christ as our Savior and Redeemer.. (8.2.4 Uniting Families of Eternity)

2.  Caring for Those in Need:  The Elders Quorum, and its members individually, will seek out and help those in our community who need temporal and spiritual assistance in their lives.  (HB 8.2.2 Caring for Those in Need)

3.  Inviting All to Receive the Gospel:  Every priesthood holder has a sacred obligation under covenant with God to help others find the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and to support their individual decision to receive the covenants and ordinances leading to salvation and exaltation. (HB 8.2.3 Inviting All to Receive the Gospel)

4.  Uniting Families for Eternity:  Priesthood holders will support and encourage members in uniting families for eternity by making covenants with Heavenly Father, and doing temple and family history work for our kindred dead.  (8.2.4 Uniting Families of Eternity)
