Hello everyone!
Sorry that I haven't sent an email in a long time! I've been trying to work really hard here in Manoguayabo. I love this area because it's like the "country side" of the capital. It's still city but it's more dirt roads and poor. My companion, Elder Gutiérrez, and I have been seeing miracles here in our area. We've been able to help some of our friends enter into the waters of baptism. It's been an amazing experience to see our friends make the decision to follow the example of Jesus Christ. My testimony has been growing a lot! I still feel like there's so much to learn but little by little, experience by experience, I'm becoming more like my Savior Jesus Christ. The mission is a wonderful place of growth and spiritual strength. I'm so grateful for the time that I've had in the DR up to this point. The people are wonderful and have so much faith. I love being able to help others understand more about the plan that God has for us and what we need to do to return to His presence.
Recently it has been raining a lot! Sometimes the streets flood and we have to walk through it! I've really been enjoying the opportunity that I have to be a zone leader here in Las Caobas. We've been seeing SO MANY miracles through the diligent efforts of the missionaries and the help of our loving Heavenly Father. This role of being a leader has made me realize how amazing it is to care for others and lose ourselves in the work and our efforts to help them. It's kind of crazy though that the sister missionaries that came in with me are done with their missions. There are so many newer missionaries that I don't know very well. So many of my role models have already gone home or are leaving in 4 weeks. Now I get to step up even more and be the role model that all the young missionaries need. I really do love the mission and the growth that come with putting your heart and mind into the work every day. It's really an honor to help God's children for 2 years in the role of a missionary. It's something that everybody needs to do because it benefits your life so much. Not just your's but the lives of many many many more people.
Spiritual Thought:
This life really is a process. We can become better every day but sometimes we fall short. It's hard sometimes to be the person that God knows we can become. Sometimes I've had moments where I can visualize myself with that type of potential! It's amazing to think about. But....we know that with all good things comes lots of hard work! God can bless us as much as He wants but He also wants to see us progress and grow in this mortal life. He wants us to work hard and earn the blessings that He has prepared for us. They're right there in our reach. We just need to reach out and grab them. It takes action. Sometimes we'll fail. But it's not about how many times we fall, it's about how many times we get back up! Our Savior Jesus Christ has already paid for all of our sins, trials, temptations, sicknesses, and pains. He knows what we're experiencing in every moment. We can't fight against this atoning power, but instead we need to use it so that we can be lifted up every time that we fall by our merciful and loving Savior. His arms are outstretched and wide to embrace us and comfort us in every and any moment in our lives. God sent His Beloved Son Jesus Christ so that we might be saved through Him. In 3 Nephi 27:27, Jesus Christ said, "Therefore, what manner of men ought ye to be? Verily I say unto you, even as I am." We can become like our Savior as we have faith in Him and in our Heavenly Father, Repent daily, get baptized as Jesus Christ was, receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, and endure to the end. Christ's atoning power helps us to use these things and improve through them. I know that my Savior lives. I know that we have a loving Heavenly Father that always wants the best for us! He knows us by name and wants us to return to His presence. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How have you all been? I've been pretty good. I was transferred to McCall which is a resort town for skiing and boating. Right now theres nobody cause we haven't gotten the snow fall. They say McCall usually gets 8 feet of snow. So its not bad. The house I live in has a mice problem so we are going to take care of that today. All the clean dishes have mouse poop on them and all, its bad. This area covers a ¼ of our actual mission field, its really big. We got down on Fridays to Riggins and stay a night at these older people's home. He's the major and the branch president so its cool. Never met him tho cause he was out of town. And then if you haven't looked at the photo album, our truck got stuck. All the roads here are dirt except the main roads, soo pretty cool. Well
we where going down this one road, lots of slush and we see this car with its hood up so we thought oh it broke down or something its whatever we'll go around. And as we did our front end of the truck fell through the ice. Just the tires so its fine. But we
got out and looked around and the ice was pretty thick so it was interesting and then we kind of noticed the car with its hood up looks like it just happened not to long ago and when we walked in front there was not ice, just knee deep water and it was not
fun. That car was pulled out of the ice which was why it was water and all. We took a polar plunge but not willingly. I went in up to my knees, my comp fell and it went to his belly before he jumped screaming. So it was fun. We tried the oldest trick in the
book, get some wood and try but it did not so we sat there for an hour until a member could pull us out. That was a really fun day and experience, we now prepped the truck with warm supplies so we dont get hypothermia if it happens again. Its been really good
to be up here tho, no missionaries and all. I have my own room, own bathroom, like its really good. I gotta get stuff to exercise cause there's nothing and the house is infested with mice but its alright. We are fixing that. And that is about it. We travel
a lot to houses so its fun. Its very expensive, I spent 80 on food and that might last me until they pay us so it may be iffy. Really expensive, gas is still like 3.5 so not recommended. But as a missionary its cool for Idaho. Thats about it tho. See you all
next year. and thanks for the emails. i get to talk only on monday so ill try to get back to you. love you all. byee

As a disciple of Jesus Christ, I will find personal joy in the Love of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, seek to Share my love for the Restored Gospel with family, friends, neighbors and others at school and work, and I will Invite someone to join with me and my family in worshipping Father in Heaven.
I will make a personal effort to meet each person who comes to the Keokuk Branch, and to see them as beloved son or daughter of Heavenly Father who loves them. I can do this by:
Learning their names and finding out what is important to them,
Inviting someone I know for a missionary teaching appointment at my home or joining with the missionaries at a teaching appointment, and
Attending a baptism and seeking out the new member as a friend.
I will pray for each member for whom I have ministering responsibilities by his or her name, including those who may be less-active or have strayed from the covenant path, that Heavenly Father will guide me to help them to receive the ordinances and blessings of eternal life.
